(Picture: PA Archive)Police have arrested a suspect in connection with the fatal stabbing of a man in east London hours after appealing for the public’s help to find him.
Kwabena Boateng, 20, was arrested on Thursday, the same day as their appeal.
Boateng was being sought after 33-year-old Mohamed Ensser died from a neck wound during a mass brawl on the Isle of Dogs.
Police were called to East Ferry Road following reports of a group of males fighting at about 8.30pm on September 21.
Officers administered CPR prior to the arrival of medics, but despite their best efforts Mr Ensser, from Leyton, was pronounced dead at the scene 20 minutes later.
Mr Ensser’s next of kin were notified and continue to be supported by specialist officers.
A post-mortem found the cause of death to have been a stab wound to the neck and hypovolemic shock.
Detective Chief Inspector Larry Smith, of the Met’s Specialist Crime Command, said: “A man has been arrested in connection with a fatal stabbing on the Isle of Dogs.
“An appeal was issued for help to trace Kwabena Boateng, 20. He was arrested today on suspicion of murder and is now in police custody.
“The family of Mohamed Ensser, who was aged 33 and from Leyton, have been informed.”
