Police arrest four people found with pile of stolen goods

Police have arrested four people thought to have been involved in a recent burglary spree.

The group were discovered at a home in Lower Broughton, Salford, late yesterday evening (Monday) along with piles of suspected stolen goods.

In a post on Facebook, a member of GMP's Salford team said they believed the suspects may have been behind a series of home burglaries in the area.

"It’s been a busy few days around Broughton and Kersal, officers from the Salford North East Neighbourhood Team located and arrested four suspected burglars at an address in Higher Broughton last night," he explained.

"Inside the property was a large quantity of suspected stolen property.

"We believe they have been responsible for a recent spate of burglaries in the Broughton Park and Higher Broughton area over the last few weeks.

"They are currently in custody awaiting interview."

Officers also arrested two people on suspicion of dealing drugs in Lower Broughton.

The duo were stopped in a vehicle yesterday night and when it was searched it was found that they had a large quantity of cash.

When the two suspects were searched it was found that one was in possession of a "large quantity of several wraps of white powder". Both people were arrested on suspicion of possessing Class A drugs with intent to supply.
