Police arrest drink drive suspect in Carrick Hill area

Belfast Police have arrested a motorist on suspicion of drink driving around the Carrick Hill area on Saturday night.

The Auto Crime Team are patrolling the streets overnight in a festive crackdown on motorists who are opting to drive home when they should be getting a taxi or a lift.

One patrol car intercepted the suspect at around 11pm. She failed a roadside breathalyser test and could face a ban and a hefty fine.

PSNI North Belfast tweeted at 11.32pm: "Auto Crime Team have just arrested a woman on suspicion of driving with excess alcohol following a stop of a vehicle in the Carrick Hill area. #OpsSeasonsGreetings #KeepingPeopleSafe #WeCareWeListenWeAct."
