
AYUTTHAYA - Police have obtained an arrest warrant for one of two suspects held on suspicion of murdering three people and burying their bodies in a rice field, and believe three more people might be involved.
Karis Nimnoi, 46, and Charun Sangwiset, 46, were detained for questioning on Tuesday, and allegedly confessed to the murders.
Police subsequently presented a case to the court and obtained an arrest warrant for Mr Karis for alleged collusion in three murders and concealing the bodies, Pol Maj Gen Sutthi Phuangphikul, chief of Ayutthaya police, said on Wednesday.
Police were preparing to seek court approval to also arrest Mr Charun, who was being detained for questioning.
The bodies were found buried in a paddy field in Maha Rat district by a villager on Monday. Police believed they were victims of drug traffickers. All three had been previously involved in drug cases,
The dead men were identified as Somphal Boonsanoon, 39, Phairach Homcha-iam, 38, and Samruam Wong-aksorn, 32, who were friends and lived in tambon of Ban Na. All three bodies had gunshot wounds.
According to police, the two suspects said they were angry because Samruam had cheated them out of 6,000 methamphetamine pills, so they killed him. Phairach and Somphal were also killed, because they witnessed the murder.
Investigators believed three other people may have been involved in concealing the bodies.
