A teenager has told police she was sexually assaulted in a Glasgow park just weeks after another girl was raped.
The 14-year-old was allegedly attacked in Dawsholm Park in the Maryhill area of the city at around 9.30pm on Friday June 19.
Police are continuing to investigate the latest attack but said that a 15-year-old boy had been arrested in connection with the incident.
They are not looking for anyone else in connection with Friday’s incident.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 9.30pm on Friday, 19 June, we received reports of a sexual assault against a 14-year-old girl in the Dawsholm Park area of Glasgow.
“A 15-year-old boy has been arrested, officers are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident. Enquiries are ongoing."
Another teenage girl, aged 16, was subjected to a horrifying rape ordeal in the same beauty spot on June 1.
The girl’s father, who cannot be named for legal reasons, issued a heartfelt appeal to find the attacker after his daughter was left traumatised.
He told how she was pulled into bushes and subjected to the horrifying ordeal after becoming separated from her friends at around 8.10pm.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: "We are carrying out enquiries after a 16-year-old woman was seriously sexually assaulted at Dawsholm Park in a wooded area a short distance from the entrance at Ilay Court in Glasgow at 8.10pm on Monday 1 June.
"Anyone who was in the area and witnessed the incident is asked to contact officers on 101 quoting 4107 of 1 June."
