Police have arrested 56 people caught having an orgy in a rented holiday home in southern Belgium.
The owner of the house, who has not been named, told reporters the house had been rented out for the weekend to a family of four people and that its maximum capacity was eight guests.
Numerous locals called the police about a party going on in the home, which is situated across the street from the Edmond-Jacques Clinic, the local Virton hospital.
When officers arrived they found 56 people engaging in sexual activity on the premises.
They reportedly determined that the evening was a giant sex orgy, that people had paid around £226 to attend, and that it was also set up to celebrate the birthday of a female French participant.
Police arrived at around 3am on Sunday because they first had to obtain permission from the magistrate to intervene.
On the premises, there was reportedly laughing gas being used, an alcohol buffet, and escort girls.
Participants were fined £226 on the spot and the local prosecution is expected to bring additional charges.
Francois Culot, mayor of Virton, told RTBF that he was "furious".
Wallonia currently has a partial lockdown in place along with a curfew.
This is not the first sex party that the authorities have busted in Belgium in the last month.
