Police are looking for a man in connection with the robbery of a 79-year-old woman in Wythenshawe

Police are appealing for help to find this man in connection with the robbery of a 79-year-old woman in Wythenshawe.

They believe that Daniel Kavanagh, 30, can help them with their investigation into a robbery that took place in the Burnsall Walk area, in Wythenshawe on Friday 22 March.

A 79-year-old woman was grabbed from behind and at around 6.25pm.

It is thought that robber wrapped his arm around her throat.

Her purse was stolen - it contained a bank card and around £30 in cash.

A statement released by Greater Manchester Police said the woman was not physically injured, but she has been left shaken.

The robber, who was wearing a distinctive light blue waterproof jacket, fled on foot towards Baguley .

Police are now appealing for the public's help to trace Kavanagh who is known to have links to the Wythenshawe and Baguley areas of Greater Manchester.

Anybody with information regarding the whereabouts of Kavanagh is asked to contact police on 0161 856 6085 quoting incident reference 1886 of 22/03/2019 or contact the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
