Police in Spain are reportedly investigating whether Cilla Black could have died after a fall caused by a dizzy spell.

The late singer and entertainer died in her holiday home in Estepona, in Spain, on Sunday.

Black may have walked from an air-conditioned room in to midday heat, with the change in temperature causing her to become dizzy, according to The Sun.

It quoted a source close to the investigation as saying medical examiners will look at marks on her arm and elbow that could be linked to a fall.

A post-mortem is due to be carried out this afternoon but Spanish police said the 72-year-old had most likely died of natural causes.

Eastenders actress Barbara Windsor told Good Morning Britain Black had described feeling "aches and pains" in the weeks before her death, but had laughed it off.

Black spoke of wanting to die before the age of 75 so she would not have to endure the painful death her mother did in an interview just a year before she passed away, describing  75 as a “good age to go”.

Tributes from her many friends, colleagues and notable figures have been pouring in, with the Prime Minister David Cameron praising her “significant contribution to public life in Britain”.
