Police are appealing for public's help to find 63-year-old man missing since weekend

Police are appealing for assistance from the public to trace 63-year-old John Carr who has been missing from his home in Riddochhill Drive, Blackburn, since Saturday.

John was last seen around 1.30pm on Edinburgh Road, Bathgate.

After that police received information that he was seen at Waverley Train Station, Edinburgh about 4pm hours on March 7 where he may have boarded a train.

He is described as white, five feet seven inches in height, of stocky build, with grey/white short hair, bushy eyebrows and faded tattoos on his hands and arms.

He was wearing a dark grey top, blue v-neck jumper with cream edges, a black jacket and black/dark blue shoes. He has a limp and walks with the aid of a stick.

Inspector Craig Pirie, Livingston Police Office, said: “John said he was heading out to get the bus to Bathgate for shopping but for whatever reason he has not come back. “He’s not been missing before and so to not return home and be be out of touch with family is unusual and concerning for family and police.

“We have been searching the area and checking CCTV as well as liaising with bus and taxi companies. So far there has been one unconfirmed sighting of John late on Saturday night at the bus stance at the shopping centre in Livingston, however, nothing since then.

“We would ask people to keep an eye out for him and if he’s seen, or if you know where he may be, then contact officers at Livingston Police Station via 101. Please quote reference number 3252 of 7 March 2020 when calling.”
