Police apprehend suspected drink driver in Llanrhystud

Police in Ceredigion have issued a warning about the dangers of drinking and driving after a single vehicle incident near Llanrhystud.

The driver was taken to hospital to be checked over after their vehicle left the road on a bend, before being taken to a police station where they provided an alcohol reading of 83 micrograms per 100 millilitres of breath – more than double the legal limit of 35.

Police said they planned to interview the driver on Tuesday in relation to the incident.

Ceredigion Roads Policing said on Twitter: “Assisted lates officer at RTC #Llanrhystud, single vehicle has gone off the road on a bend.

“Driver checked out at hospital first, then Police Station. Evidenced alcohol reading of 83, (sleep emoji) for night then interview for offences.”
