Police appeal to trace relatives of man who died alone in Glasgow home

Police have launched an appeal after a pensioner died alone in his home during the coronavirus lockdown.

Alexander Hogg, 80, passed away in his property in Taylor Place, in the Townhead area of Glasgow, as the public have been told to stay at home to stop the spread of the deadly virus.

The force said Mr. Hogg was found dead within his home on May 5, 2020, and that there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.

But the force is appealing to the public for relatives and members of the public to come forward - as so little is known about the pensioner.

In a statement, the force said: "The deceased may have had a sister named Jean, however, very little has been confirmed about his life

"Anyone who has knowledge of Mr. Hogg's relatives is asked to contact the Administration Department at London Road Police Office on 0141-532-4656 between 7am and 3pm Monday - Friday."
