Police appeal to trace man after £300 bike stolen from Sunderland University

Police have released an image of a man they wish to speak to in connection with a bike theft at Sunderland University.

A man approached a bike that had been left outside outside City Space on Chester Road and cut off the lock.

The black Carrera bike, worth around £300, was then stolen with the culprit riding off from the scene.

Police have launched an investigation and have identified a man they wish to speak to in relation to the incident between 11.30am and midnight on July 20.

He was seen in the area at the time and may have information that can assist officers with their enquiries.

The man, or anyone who recognises him, is asked to call 101 quoting reference 546 200719 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
