Police appeal to help trace wanted man following assault in Manchester city centre

Police are asking for help to find a wanted man in connection with an assault in Manchester city centre.

Detectives say they believe Aaron Nicholas Grundy 'knows he is wanted by police and is actively evading arrest'.

Grundy, of no fixed abode, has links to Radcliffe in Bury.

Police have warned anyone who is housing Grundy, or is withholding information about him, that they could 'potentially face prosecution'.

The assault took place in February, a spokesman for GMP said.

The 32-year-old is from the Macclesfield area of Cheshire.

Police believe he stayed in hotels in Manchester, Macclesfield and Alderley Edge prior to lockdown.

His whereabouts are currently unknown.

He often travels around in taxis and private hire vehicles, police said.
