Police appeal over crash which has left driver in hospital for a fortnight

A driver injured in a car crash two weeks ago is still in hospital, police have revealed.

Officers have renewed appeals for information - especially in the form of dashcam footage - after the collision which happened in north Bristol last month.

All three emergency services rushed to the scene of the collision which involved two cars at around 4.40pm on the afternoon of Sunday, April 25.

The crash happened on Bristol Road in Hambrook, near the Avon Ring Road and the M32.

The driver of one of the cars, a man in his 40s who has not been named, suffered a serious injury and was taken to hospital. Police said today, Saturday, May 8, that he remains in hospital.

So serious was the crash that police collision investigators scoured the scene and the road was closed for more than four hours before finally reopening at around 9pm that Sunday night.

"We’re appealing for witnesses after a road traffic collision in Hambrook," said a spokesperson for Avon and Somerset police.

"Anyone who saw what happened, or may have dashcam footage, is asked to call 101 and give the call-handler reference 5221088983," he added.
