Water incident linked to search for missing Paisley man

Police have confirmed an incident at a remote Bridge of Weir farm is linked to the search for a missing Paisley man.

Emergency crews raced to Hattrick Farm after a car was discovered in the water at 10.22am this morning.

David Letham was missing from the Foxbar area of the town and was last seen around 3.30am, this morning at a property where he was staying.

He is described as 5ft 6ins, of slim build with dark, short shaved hair. When he was last seen he was wearing a blue T-shirt.

Sergeant Fiona Kane said: “We are becoming increasingly concerned about David’s welfare and extensive searches are going on in Paisley and the wider Renfrewshire area. We are keen to find him as soon as possible.”

A force spokesman confirmed the Bridge of Weir incident is linked to the search.

Anyone who has seen David or knows of his whereabouts is urged to contact police on 101 quoting incident number 0537 of Tuesday, 23 February 2021.
