A woman was left shaken after a man followed her before trying to steal her handbag on Tuesday night, Police have said.
The suspect reportedly stalked the female along the Ballymacash Road towards Glenwood Court at around 22:10 on Tuesday 15 October.
He then proceeded to grab the victim and assault her in an attempt to steal her handbag - but she was able to safely get away from him.
Police are taking the incident 'very seriously' and have advised the public to be vigilant in the area.
They released a description of the suspect and appealed for witnesses to come forward.
A spokesperson said: "The male is described as white, in his early 20s and of medium build. He is approximately 5ft 9" in height and was wearing dark Adidas Gazelle trainers, dark tracksuit bottoms, a dark jacket with the hood up and a baseball cap.
"If anyone has sighted a suspicious male in the area of Glenwood Court/Ballymacash Road/ Nettlehill Road matching this description or has any relevant information, please contact 101 quoting serial number 2085 of 15/10/2019."
