Police appeal for witnesses after man, 46, assaulted in Ayr

Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault in Ayr this morning.

The attack took place at around 7.20am on Castlehill Road.

A 46-year-old man was assaulted, resulting in minor injuries that did not require hospital treatment.

Officers are now following a positive line of enquiry.

At the time of the incident, a light-coloured, possibly silver taxi, drove past and officers are appealing for the driver of the vehicle to come forward as a witness.

Anyone else who was a witness should contact DS Templeton at Kilmarnock CID via 101 and quote the incident number 0969 of 29 December.
