Police appeal for witnesses after large gangs of youths cause disturbance in Musselburgh

Police in East Lothian have appealed for witnesses after a serious disturbance involving large gangs of youths.

Officers are looking to get in touch with people who may have seen the incident on Musselburgh High Street on Saturday, July 11.

At around 7.55pm, a 'large scale disturbance' was reported at which a window of a retail property was seriously damaged.

Police have confirmed that enquiries are already ongoing into the incident, but have urged anyone who may have information or video footage of the incident to come forward.

In an appeal on social media, the East Lothian police stated:

"Local officers are appealing for witnesses to an incident that occurred on the High Street, Musselburgh, at 7.55pm on Saturday 11th July.

"Officers were called to a large scale disturbance involving groups of youths, during which a window of a retail property was damaged as pictured.

"Enquiries have been ongoing into this matter, but anyone who has any information or who may have video footage of the incident, are urged to contact 101 quoting incident number 3595 of 11/07/20. Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
