Police appeal for witnesses after Land Rover driver dies in crash with lorry

A 38-year old man has died following a crash between a Land Rover and an articulated lorry in Wigan.

Emergency services were scrambled to Mosley Common Road, Tyldesley, at around 10pm last night (Tuesday December 15) following the smash.

The driver of an orange Land Rover Freelander - a 38-year-old man - was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of a white Volvo HGV was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The HGV driver and a passenger in the Land Rover also suffered minor injuries (ASP)

A passenger in the Land Rover also suffered minor injuries.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) is asking for witnesses and anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.

PC Paul Clarke, of GMP's Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: "We're investigating the circumstances around this tragic collision and would ask anyone with information that may assist us to come forward.

"Our thoughts remain with the man's family and specialist officers are supporting them.

"Anyone witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage should call us on 101 quoting incident number 2928 of 15/12/2020. Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
