Police appeal for witnesses after fatal collision in Camden

Police have appealed for witnesses to come forward after a pedestrian was knocked down and killed by a car in north London.

Emergency services were called to Euston Road shortly before 8pm on Tuesday to reports of a road accident, the Metropolitan Police said in a statement.

Officers and London Ambulance Service (LAS) staff attended the scene, where a man - thought to be in his 30s - was found with severe injuries.

The man was then taken by LAS to an east London hospital where he died a short time later.

The Met said officers believe they have identified the victim and are working to inform his next of kin.

The driver of the vehicle stopped at the scene and is assisting detectives with their enquiries, with detectives from the Met’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit working to establish the full circumstances of the incident.

No arrests have been made at this time.

Any witnesses or anyone with information or dash cam footage is asked to call the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 020 8246 9820, police on 101, quoting CAD6880/28JUL20, or tweet @MetCC. Alternatively, independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously by calling 0800 555 111 or online at Crimestoppers-uk.org.
