Police appeal for witnesses after cyclist seriously injured in Uddingston crash

Police are appealing for information after a cyclist suffered serious injuries following a crash in Uddingston.

The 43-year-old man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow after being hit by a car on the B7071 Uddingston Road at the junction to Hornal Road at Bothwell Industrial Estate at around 5.10pm on Wednesday, November 3.

The collision also involved a grey Peugeot 208 car. None of the occupants were injured.

Road policing officers were forced to close the road for around three hours to allow for an investigation at the scene and enquiries remain ongoing.

Sergeant Nick Twigg told Lanarkshire Live: "We are working to establish the full circumstances which led to this crash and would urge anyone who may be able to help to come forward.

"We would also be keen to speak to anyone who may have dashcam footage from the area.

"Anyone who can help is asked to call 101, quoting reference 2668 of November 3."
