Police appeal for witness after man was injured in robbery at his home

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was injured in a robbery in his home.

The 37-year-old was taken to hospital after three men entered his home on Carfin Street in New Stevenston and assaulted him before fleeing with a three-figure sum of money.

The incident occurred at about 10.30pm on Friday.

The men are described as being aged in their early 20s, between 5ft 8in and 5ft 11in, and were wearing light-coloured clothing with their hoods up.

One of the suspects may have been using a bike, police say.

Detective Constable Gary Lipscombe said: “This is a busy road and I am hoping that people in the area may have seen these three men acting suspiciously in the area around the time of the robbery last night.

“I would appeal to any witnesses, or anyone with information, to contact us as soon as possible.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact 101, quoting the reference number 4328 of June 12.
