Police appeal for public's help after man in robbed in street

Police in West Lothian are appealing for witnesses after a man was robbed in Armadale.

The incident happened around 12.30pm on Monday, August 17 when the victim, a 23-year-old  man, was walking along Mount Pleasant in the direction of South Street when a black Ford Fiesta approached him.

A man got out of the car, demanded money, grabbed the victim and stole his mobile phone.

The suspect is described as a white man in his early 20s, around five feet eight inches in height with dark hair. He was wearing a red t-shirt, light-grey tracksuit top, dark tracksuit bottoms and red trainers.

Detective Constable David McDougall, of Livingston CID, said: "We're appealing to anyone who witnessed this incident, or has any information at all about it, to please contact us."

Anyone with information should contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting reference 1728 of 17 August, or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
