Police appeal for Norwegian woman who vanished from Glasgow hospital three months ago

Police have launched a fresh appeal to trace a Norwegian woman who vanished from a Glasgow hospital three months ago.

56-year-old Anne Vetvik, a patient at Stobhill, was last at the hospital on February 13. She was reported missing by staff after last being seen around 5pm.

Anne, described as a 'quiet and reserved' person, has links to the city centre, west end and south side of Glasgow.

A Police Scotland statement published today said: "We are again appealing for information in order to trace Anne Vetvik who has now been missing for three months.

"Anne, a Norwegian national, was reported missing by staff at Stobhill Hospital on Thursday, 13 February, 2020, where she was last seen around 5pm that day.

"The 56-year-old is described as white, around 5ft 5 inches in height, of a medium build with shoulder length greying hair. She speaks very good English with a Norwegian accent.

"Despite extensive enquiries, officers are still keen to speak to anyone who may have seen Anne who normally wears a woollen hat, wraparound sunglasses, red lipstick and habitually carries her handbags crossed over her shoulders and all of her possessions in shopping bags."

Sergeant Niall MacLeod of Maryhill police station commented: "I would like to thank members of the public who have assisted police so far in the search for Anne. Officers are still conducting enquiries on a local and wider scale, but it has now been twelve weeks since Anne was reported missing.

"She is a quiet and reserved person who does not disclose much about her lifestyle, or those she associates with."

"Anne has links to the city centre, Southside and West End areas of Glasgow and I would appeal to anyone who may see her in those areas to let us know and Anne, if you are reading this, please let us know you are safe and well."

Anyone with information on her whereabouts are asked to contact officers through 101 quoting reference number 2011 of Thursday, 13 February, 2020.
