Police appeal for missing Scottish Borders woman who 'may be looking for BnB to stay in'

Police in the Scottish Borders have launched an urgent appeal following the disappearance of a 51-year-old woman.

Known as Amanda or Millie Stewart, the woman was last seen in the Melrose area around 5pm on Sunday, 24 April, 2022.

Originally from the Newtown St Boswells area of the Borders, Amanda is described as white, 5ft 1”, stocky build, grey/white hair.

Although the photo suggests she is in possession of a mobility scooter, officers believe this was not the case when she disappeared.

Police also say that Amanda may be seeking accommodation at a Bed and Breakfast or hotel within the Scottish Borders or possibly out with the area.

Anyone with any information on Amada’s whereabouts is asked to contact 101 quoting incident number 2610 of 24th April 2022.
