Police appeal for information to catch thugs who assaulted and robbed 14-year-old

Police in Livingston are appealing for witnesses after a 14-year-old was attacked iin a "terrifying ordeal" in the town at the weekend.

The boy was walking on Loan Path in the Howden area around 9.40pm when he became aware of two people following him.

They asked him for money before carrying out a sustained attack leaving him with facial injuries. They then stole his mobile phone and headphones.

The two suspects are both described as white males, around five feet 10 inches tall  and aged between 15 and 16.

One had ginger hair, a skinny build and was wearing a blue and grey tracksuit. The other had fair hair with a slim build and was wearing a blue hoodie and grey jogging bottoms.

 

Detective Sergeant John Bowerbank from Livingston CID said: “This has been a terrifying ordeal for the young victim. I’m appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time or has CCTV to please get in touch so we can catch those responsible.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Police Scotland via 101 quoting incident number 3963 of 12 September 2020.
