Police appeal for information as thug throws object at bus window in Cambuslang

Police are hunting a thug who hurled an ‘object’ at a moving bus with passengers on board in Cambuslang, smashing the window.

The vehicle was driving along Hamilton Road at around 5.30pm on Sunday when the object was launched from the roadside.

While passengers were on board at the time, nobody was injured.

Police have launched a probe into the callous attack.

Officers stressed that a 'dangerous' incident like this can result in bus routes being shut down.

Anyone with information on the attack in Cambuslang is being urged to come forward.

A spokesperson from Lanarkshire Police Division said: "About 5.30pm on Sunday, March 21, a bus was driving on Hamilton Road, Cambuslang when someone has thrown an object towards it, resulting in a smashed window.

"At the time of the incident there were passengers on the bus however no one was injured.

"Local officers are appealing for witnesses regarding this incident.

"Incidents like this are dangerous and may result in bus routes being closed, causing community impact and leaving residents to find alternative transport.

"If you have any information, please contact 101 quoting incident number "0608 of March 22.

"Alternatively, you can contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where you will remain 100 per cent anonymous.
