More than 200 people have already shared an appeal on Facebook in a bid to find Socks, who was taken from Castle Hill Road at around 3.45pm on Tuesday, January 19.

The stolen dog is female, seven years old and is a cross between a rough-haired blue Greyhound Whippet and a Bedlington Terrier.

Officers have released an image of the dog and asked anyone who may have information about the theft to come forward.

"She is approximately 20-21 inches in height and looks similar to the above photo.

"She was stolen from Castle Hill Road, Hindley on 19/01/21 at approximately 3.45pm by three unknown males in an unknown vehicle."

Anyone who may have information about Socks is asked to call 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 5551111 quoting crime reference number CRI/06LL/0001639/21.
