Police appeal for information after shop break-in

Police are appealing for information following a break-in to a shop in Livingston in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Entry was forced to the I-Candy store on Follyburn Place around 2.30am on Saturday (December 21) and the till was stolen.

Enquiries are ongoing into the incident and officers are appealing for anyone who may have information on the male suspect believed to be involved.

He is described as around five feet tall, slim build and was wearing a grey jacket. It is believed he ran across Eliburn Road and into the wooded area at Peel Park after the crime.

Detective Constable Barry Carlin said: “I am appealing to anyone who was in the Eliburn area in the early hours of Saturday morning to get in touch if they saw or heard anything suspicious.

“I would also ask anyone who may have been driving in the area around the time to review any dashcam footage and report anything which may be of use to us.”

Information can be provided to Police Scotland via 101, quoting reference number 0630 of 21 December, or reported anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
