Police appeal for information after man assaulted and robbed at shopping centre

Police detectives are appealing to the public for information after a man was assaulted and robbed at a West Lothian shopping centre.

The incident is believed to have taken place by the Mill Centre in the town of Blackburn between 6:15-6:30pm.

A 41-year-old man was believed to be walking towards the Ash Terrace exit from the Mill Centre in the town when he was grabbed, pushed against a wall and assaulted by two males who then walked off towards the health centre.

It is understood that the victim did not require medical treatment and continued on his way home when he realised that his mobile phone and a three figure sum of cash was missing from his jacket pocket.

The men are described as white, aged in their late 20s, of medium build and both wearing dark clothing with hoods. One was around 5ft 7ins and the other around 5ft 9ins.

Detective Constable Shona Robertson, of Livingston CID, said: “We are eager to speak to anyone who saw anything suspicious at the time of this incident, or saw the men involved either before or afterwards.

“If you can help please contact us on 101, quoting incident number 3448 of Monday, 6 December, 2021, or make a call anonymously to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
