Police appeal for information after gang of masked men raid Co-op

A gang of masked men stole 'a significant amount of cash' after raiding a Co-op store in Bury.

Officers were called to reports of a burglary at the shop in Vernon Road, Greenmount, at about 4.45am this morning (Monday, July 26).

Four males wearing balaclavas were spotted leaving the scene.

It is believed the gang stole a large amount of cash from the shop's cash machine.

Greater Manchester Police is investigating the incident.

No arrests have been made at this stage.

Pictures show a police cordon in place at the shop this afternoon, while eyewitness reported seeing forensics officers working at the scene.
