Police appeal for information after fire at disused house

Police are appealing for information after a fire was started in a disused house in Shotts.

Emergency services were called to the property in Charlotte Street at around 10.40pm on March 23.

There were no reports of casualties as a result of the incident however police are keen to speak to anyone who may have any seen anything suspicious.

Inspector Stevie Murray, from Wishaw Police Office, said: “The house is not in use and we believe a group of youths have been in there and then a fire was started.

“Although there was no casualties but that doesn’t matter and this could have been a lot worse.

“We would appeal to anyone with information to contact police immediately.”
