Police appeal for information after caravan torched in early morning blaze

Police are appealing for information after a caravan was set alight by vandals in Craigneuk.

Officers and firefighters rushed to the scene in Laurel Drive at around 3.50am on Saturday, February 29.

No-one was injured but a Police Scotland spokesperson told the Wishaw Press the caravan had suffered “extensive damage”.

Officers are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen anything suspicious to contact them immediately.

Elsewhere, witnesses are also being sought following the theft of a car in Shotts.

The red Volkswagen Golf was stolen overnight on February 27 from a car park in Garry Way.

Anyone with information regarding these incidents is asked to contact police on 101.

Alternatively contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where calls are free and anonymity will be maintained.
