Police appeal for info after man attacked by two thugs in Wishaw street

Police in Wishaw are appealing for information after a man was assaulted in Wishaw on Thursday night.

Around 5.50pm on April 16, a 36-year-old man was walking along Bridge Street when he was approached by two men.

The three men began arguing and then the 36-year-old man was assaulted by the two men.

He was treated at Wishaw General Hospital for a head injury before being allowed home.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “The suspects are described as in their 20’s and of medium build. One of them had dark shaven hair.

The incident is being treated as a serious assault and anyone who either witnessed the assault or who has any other information that could assist police enquiries should contact Wishaw CID via 101 quoting incident number 2985 of 16 April 2020.

“Alternatively information can be given to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where anonymity can be maintained.”
