The family of a man whose condition was deteriorating in hospital have been identified.

ACT Policing called for the public's help to identify a man who was taken from the Gungahlin Town Centre to Canberra Hospital on Tuesday.

Referring to himself as Roger, the man had no identification on him and has been unable to provide any further information about himself.

Police confirmed the man's identity on Tuesday afternoon and his family have been contacted.
