Police appeal for Good Samaritan who helped man after serious assault

Officers are keen to speak to a good Samaritan after she helped a man to his feet after a serious assault at a Worksop pond earlier this month.

A male victim was attacked by an unknown offender and received serious facial injuries which required hospital treatment.

Detective Constable Lisa Porter is leading the investigation. She said: "The incident happened between 4-5pm on May 9 2020 at Godfreys Pond in Sandhill Street, Worksop.

"We are appealing to hear from the unknown woman who helped the victim to his feet.

"We'd be interested to speak to her and thank her for her actions that day. Who knows what would have happened if she hadn't been there?"

If you saw the incident or have any information please call 101, quoting incident number 20*240216."
