Police appeal as 12-year-old Rubi Giblin goes missing from Aberdare

UPDATE: Police confirmed on Wednesday, February 19, that Rubi Giblin had been found safe and well.

Police have appealed for information after a 12-year-old girl was reported missing from home.

Officers from South Wales Police are appealing for help in finding Rubi Giblin, who is from the Cwmbach area of Aberdare.

Rubi was reported missing from her home on Monday at about 1.15pm, a force spokesman said.

She is described as being 5ft 4in tall and of slim build with long brown hair that was down and curled on the day she left.

She was wearing black Puma leggings with bold white lettering saying 'Puma' on one of the legs on the thigh area. She was also wearing a khaki green puffer jacket with black fur trim around the hood and possibly a pair of white Nike Air Force trainers.

How does a missing persons investigation work?

Rubi is known to visit Aberdare town, police say.

Officers are asking for anyone who has seen Rubi or knows where she is to contact them on 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 quoting reference 2000059285.
