Police appeal after yobs hurl objects at Metrolink trams in Chorlton

Police were called out to the Manchester Metrolink platform at Chorlton late on Thursday night following reports anti-social yobs were hurling objects at passing trams.

Tram passengers contacted Greater Manchester Police with reports of a number of nuisance incidents and more aggravated disorder including objects thrown at trams.

Police are appealing for information and have asked any witnesses to contact them on 101.

GMP tweeted at 11.38pm: "#GMPTransportUnit deployed to the area tonight due to ASB near to the @MCRMetrolink lines and reports of people throwing objects at the trams."

"Please call 101 if you have witnessed anything."
