Police are appealing for information after a woman died following a collision on the M60 on Tuesday morning (May 18).
Shortly before 8am, police were called to reports of a collision between a woman and a box van near junction 6 on the M60.
The woman, who is in her 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene. It was reported that she had fallen from the bridge across the motorway near Sale.
The van remained at the scene and the driver is assisting police with their enquiries.
Police are now appealing for anyone with information or dash cam footage to reach out and assist with the investigation.
Police Constable Simon Venguedasalon, of GMP's Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: "This is a tragic incident and our thoughts remain with the woman's family who we are supporting at this incredibly difficult time.
"This collision took place on a busy motorway during the morning rush hour when a number of people will have been travelling to and from Manchester.
"If anyone witnessed this incident, or has any information or dash cam footage that could assist police with their enquiries, please do not hesitate to get in touch."
The incident led to the section of the M60 between junction 6 and 7 being closed off for more than five hours before reopening shortly after 1pm.
Emergency crews from North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) and GMP were in attendance.
No arrests have been made and an investigation is ongoing.
