Police appeal after two men raided a phone shop in West Bridgford

Police are seeking help from the public, following a robbery at a phone shop in Nottingham.

On Thursday, April 11, two men wearing face coverings, entered the Carphone Warehouse store in Loughborough Road, West Bridgford.

The incident happened around 10.30am and the men threatened staff and demanded tills be opened.

They then stole around 50 mobile phones, a small quantity of cash along with a personal phone and wallet belonging to one of the victims.

The offenders left the scene driving in a black BMW convertible, which officers believe may have been stolen.

Both men have been described as black, about 6 foot 2 inches tall, and of muscular build. They were wearing dark clothing and had local accents.

Officers have confirmed that no one was hurt in the incident, although victims have been left very shaken by what happened.

Police are now looking for help from the public to trace the car that the offenders left in.

A spokeswoman for Nottinghamshire Police said: "Our enquiries are ongoing and we're appealing for anyone who has any information about the offenders or the BMW they escaped in."

To report anything, call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 249 of 11 April 2019, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

A spokeswoman for Carphone Warehouse said:

“The safety and wellbeing of all our staff and customers is our utmost priority and we’ve been supporting our colleagues who were understandably shaken.

“We’re working with the police to help them with their investigations and the handsets involved have been blacklisted.”

Carphone Warehouse was co-founded by David Ross - the billionaire businessman attended the University of Nottingham and has donated millions to the institution.
