Two cars were left badly damaged at a Strathaven home after vandals targeted them with paint stripper.
Police are appealing for information on the incident which also saw the window at the house on Fortrose Gardens smashed.
Nobody was injured but residents at the home were left upset when it all took place at around 3.10am on Sunday, August 16.
The two cars vanadalised were a blue BMW X6 and a white BMW X3, which were both parked within the drive at the property. The deliberate act saw a substance poured over the cars – believed to be paint stripper.
Officers believe the driver of a blue Skoda Octavia, possibly a taxi, could be crucial in obtaining information on the incident as it was seen around 3.05am travelling on Hamilton Road and passing the Arnold Clark Garage, heading towards Hamilton. It was seen immediately after at 3.06am, driving on the same road but heading in the opposite direction towards Strathaven.
Detective Sergeant Claire Taylor said: “I am appealing to this motorist to contact us as we believe they may have information which could assist our investigation. In particular, if the vehicle has a dash cam, then it could have captured footage crucial to our enquiries. I would also appeal to members of the public who may have any knowledge regarding this incident to contact us, any small piece of information could lead us to identifying those responsible.”
