Police appeal after three men stole cash from a flat

Witnesses are being urged to come forward after burglars stole cash from a flat in Newark.

Police say three white men, all about 5ft 11ins, entered the victim's flat uninvited claiming they had come to 'collect some money' from the address.

The men then allegedly searched the property before the victim gave them a tin containing cash. The suspects then left with the money.

It happened in the Grange Road area of Newark at around 5pm on Monday, February 24.

It's believed the men were travelling in a large, light-coloured 4x4 vehicle.

Detective Sergeant Ricky Ellis, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "We're appealing to anyone who saw a vehicle matching this description in the area around the time of the burglary to get in touch with us.

"We'd also like to hear from anyone who may have recorded CCTV or dash-cam footage of the incident or the vehicle involved.

"If you have any information which could assist us in our investigation, no matter how small it may seem, please call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 743 of 24 February 2020, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
