Police appeal after three-car smash in east Manchester

The occupants of a car which crashed in east Manchester failed to stop at the scene, police say.

Officers were called to North Road, in Clayton, following a crash involving three vehicles on Saturday morning (April 10).

When they arrived they found that those in one of the vehicles involved had "made off from the scene".

Pictures taken in the immediate aftermath of the collision and shared on social media show three cars, a fire engine and debris on the ground.

A black car appears to be badly damaged.

Witnesses or anyone with information about the collision is asked to contact police.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: "Officers were called just after 11am to a report of a road traffic collision involving three vehicles on North Road in Clayton.

"Those in the vehicle made off from the scene.

"No one was injured.

"Enquiries are on-going and anyone with information can call 101 quoting log number 1165 of 10/04/2021."
