Police appeal after teenager sexually assaulted in Paisley park

Police have launched an appeal for witnesses after a 19-year-old woman was sexually assaulted in a park in Paisley.

The incident happened between 7.30pm and 8pm last night in a park off Brediland Road in the Foxbar area.

Officers want to speak to anyone who may have been in the area or saw a man described as being black, 30 to 40 years old and of a heavy build.

Police have confirmed that enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and that a police presence will be maintained in the area while this is ongoing.

Detective Inspector Colin MacRitchie said: "Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and a police presence will be maintained in the area while this is ongoing.

"I would urge anyone who may have information which could assist our investigation to come forward.

"Anyone who can help is asked to call 101, quoting incident number 0315 of 27 August, or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
