Police appeal after teenager raped in Blackley

Police are appealing for witnesses after a teenage girl was raped in north Manchester.

Officers were called to reports of a rape on Charlestown Road, in Blackley, shortly before 9.30pm on Saturday, July 20.

The 18-year-old girl is receiving support from specially trained officers.

An investigation has been launched and enquiries are ongoing.

No arrests have been made and Greater Manchester Police are appealing for anyone with further information to come forward.

A statement released by GMP said: "Shortly before 9.30pm on Saturday, July 20, 2019, police were called to Charlestown Road in Blackley to reports that a woman had been raped. 

"The 18-year-old victim is receiving support from specially trained officers. 

"No arrests have been made."
