Police appeal after teenager grabbed by passing man in car in Shirehampton

Police are appealing for information after a teenager was grabbed by a man in Shirehampton.

The victim, who is 19, was standing at a bus stop in Kings Weston Avenue, opposite Old Quarry Road, at around 7.45am yesterday (Monday, April 8) when a man in a car approached her and asked if she wanted a lift.

She refused several times, before the man then got out of the vehicle and grabbed her by the wrist.

A member of the public came to her aid, and the man got back into his car and drove away following the intervention.

The suspect is described as white, in his mid-thirties, of a slim/skinny build, around 5ft 8ins tall, and had dark straight hair.

He was wearing a grey tracksuit and was driving a red estate car.
