Police appeal after 'suspicious approach' in Dunmurry

Police say they are appealing for information after a 'suspicious approach' in West Belfast last night.

It's reported that two boys were approached by a male at around 6.15pm, who asked them to get into his car in the Summerhill Drive area.

Sergeant Hamilton said: " He is described as having grey hair, and was driving a grey-coloured car. The boys immediately ran to a nearby shop and alerted a relative to the incident.

"Police attended the scene to find the male had since departed.

"Anyone with information is asked to contact officers on 101, quoting reference number 1629 of 11/07/20."

A spokesperson for Twinbrook Sinn Féin asked parents to remind children to be vigilant.

Their statement added: "We have been in touch with the parents and have contacted the PSNI and would like to ask parents to remind children to be vigilant and not to approach any strangers/ strangers cars.

"It's always good to promote "Stranger Danger" as your children are familiar with this."
