Police appeal after stolen car found burned out and abandoned

The PSNI are appealing for information after a stolen car was found abandoned and destroyed outside a West Belfast school.

It was reportedly stolen from Duncairn Gardens on Friday March 13.

Sergeant Donnelly said: “It is understood that a black Audi A3 was taken from outside a property in the area.

“Shortly before 1am on Monday 16th March, police observed the vehicle on fire in the Springfield Road area of West Belfast.

"Enquiries are continuing and I would appeal to anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity or anyone with any dash cam footage to contact police on 101 quoting reference 55 of 16/03/20.

"Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.”

Sinn Féin Councillor Michael Donnelly was at the scene on Monday morning.

He said: "Whilst our communities are in unprecedented times worrying about the impact of Coronavirus; there are still those who are hellbent on bringing mayhem and destruction to our areas."
