Police appeal after spate of deliberate fires in Haldane

Police are appealing for information after a spate of fires in Haldane.

Cops are treating three incidents in the area as deliberate, after a shed, car, trailer and boat were all set alight in the space of a month.

The first incident occurred around 3.30am on Sunday, July 26 when a shed in Carmona Drive was set ablaze.

This was followed at 11pm on the same day by a car being intentionally set on fire outside Cranloch Court, before a third incident at 4.15am on Wednesday, August 26 where a boat and trailer were found ablaze in a car park in Woodburn Avenue.

A joint police and fire service investigation found that all three fires were started deliberately, with cops now appealing for information into the blazes – which caused several thousand pounds worth of damage.

Detective Constable Robert Struthers of Clydebank Police Station said: “I am asking the local community who may have information relating to these fires, particularly anyone observed acting suspiciously in the area around these times, to contact Clydebank CID on 101 quoting the reference LA05920820.

“You can anonymously contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, again, quoting the reference LA05920820.”
