Police appeal after spate of burglaries which they believe involved stolen BMW

Police believe a BMW stolen during a burglary in Newark was used in further incidents in the area.

Officers said a spate of burglaries happened in the early hours of Tuesday, February 19, and the following day.

Around 4am on the Tuesday, police said two people were seen on CCTV to force entry to a building, take car keys and steal a silver BMW M135i from a driveway.

The following day, at around 11.30am on Wednesday, February 20, another burglary happened in Sykes Avenue, Balderton, Newark.

This was followed by a further two in Cannon Close, Newark, later that afternoon.

Police believe those responsible were driving the stolen BMW from the first burglary.

Officers have released an image of a man they want to speak to in connection with the incidents.

Anyone with information which may help the investigation is asked to call 101 and quote incident 89 of March 19.

Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.
